Thank you all for your continued hard work, prayer, and support of the ministry of Campus House during this trying season. We wanted to provide you with an update regarding Sunday services and activities this summer in light of the global pandemic and decisions being made on the ground here at Purdue.
Every summer a majority of students depart campus, but this summer, with the cancelling of in-person classes and the limits to social gatherings, there will be an even smaller number of students than usual. Our county government has technically allowed churches to gather with stringent attendance limits, PPE requirements, and cleaning procedures to help mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19 in our congregations. However, because of the lower number of students and the greatly increased restrictions to open services, we’ve decided to continue with online church services and discipleship through (at least) June. This provides us the opportunity to focus our resources and efforts to reach the “diaspora” of the Campus House community directly where they are.
We will seek to collaborate with both Purdue and the county regarding meetings, guidelines, and precautionary measures as we work to bring back in-person services and gatherings this fall. Please pray that God would give us wisdom and grace as we continue this important mission on Purdue’s campus in this unique time. Please pray for the staff and students who are spread out across the county and across the country; that we would continue to grow in our relationships with God and that this time would be one of intimacy with the Lord and maturity in our faith.
